Worry is something we all feel.
Some of us experience it hourly, daily, or weekly. In Matthew 6, Jesus tells us that we don’t need to worry. Sometimes people will respond to our worries by reminding us of this passage. However, Jesus doesn’t simply say, “Stop worrying!” No—he encourages us to trust in his promises rather than focusing on our fears.
I’ve struggled my whole life with anxiety. As a kid, I felt like I was wrong for doing so. I felt alone in my struggle. I felt like good Christians shouldn’t worry. And then I realized the Bible shows countless examples of people worrying and God doesn’t condemn them. Instead, he refocuses their thoughts on his goodness and faithfulness.
As a father of three boys, I pray this book gives all kiddos permission to be real about their worries while helping them see hope in God’s promises.
